The main control room in nuclear power station is the control center of nuclear power, which is not only furnished with a large number of precision instruments and equipment, but also the main operating personnel work area. How to control the indoor thermal environment has significant value for the operation safety of the nuclear power system,.In order to satisfy the requirements for heat dissipation of the equipment and ensure the personnel thermal comfort, the design and optimize of the air distribution is of great importance. In this paper, taking the main control room of a nuclear power station as an example.Based on thermal comfort index, the indoor flow field of the main control room was simulated by CFD method. It is obtained that under the original condition thermal comfort performance feeling is not so good for the reason of large flow rate, high relative humidity and low temperature. The influence of the air temperature, the auxiliary heating, the air volume and the air supply angle to the air distribution and personnel comfort is investigated, and four optimization schemes are proposed and compared with the improvement of indoor personnel comfort. It can be concluded that: 1)Four optimization schemes can improve the personnel thermal comfort of the main control room;2)Raising the air temperature and closing part of the air outlet can improve the overall thermal comfort, auxiliary heat and change the air supply angle can improve the regional thermal comfort;3)Reducing air supply scheme not only meets the requirements of thermal comfort, but also avoids the potential safety risks caused by system transformation. It is simple and is the optimal solution. And then the data of the air distribution in the main control room is measured, which verifies the correctness of the numerical simulation results. The feasibility and significance of the CFD method in the study of the airflow and thermal environment in the main control room can be proved by this experiment. The numerical simulation method which is based on the thermal comfort requirements is applied for quantitative study and optimization of the indoor air distribution. This research can provide theoretical basis and guidance not only for the design and optimization of the indoor air in the main control room of nuclear power plant, but also for the design of the indoor thermal environment of industrial control room with high comfort requirements.
