Normallywhengenerator running for a long time, interactionbetween the stator and rotor will produces a large amount of heat energy. The cooling system of generators are water and air cooled. In the water cooling system, the quality of the internal cooling water will be changed under the long time running, it will give rise to corrosion of the hollow copper wires,water plugging and leakage phenomenon, caused the generators outage, much more serious it will lead to safety accidents, so the internal water cooling system is very strict to the requirement of water quality.This article is aimed at a series of problems in the control system of the internal cooling water, a control system upgrade can implement automatic adjustment, so that the quality of inner cooling water to meet the requirements, maximum extend the service life of the generator. Firstly, the control part adopts the Siemens S7-200 PLC as the core controller,the classic PID adjustment as the control method. secondly, using pH and DD sensors for field data acquisition, and the data transmitted to the PLC extension module EM235 as input. then using frequency conversion dosing system to implement the effectively alkalescency regulate of the cooling water. finally, by using theMCGS PC software on internal cooling water system for real-time and historical monitoring. Always we can use the software to set the alarmlimit,look over the history and real time curve, print statements, it is convenient for users to grasp the running condition of internal cooling water system timely.This topic is based on adding automatic adjustment system to the basic generator internal cooling water system. Experimental results indicate it can keep cooling water in alkalescent condition, and guarantee the quality of water standard, thus effectively improve the normal use of internal water cooling generator equipment, finally ensure generator safe and steady operation.
