The Investigation On The Space Design Of The Baby Care Room In Public Places

This Paper deals with the existing problems in the space design of the baby care room in public places.The author,from the perspective of space professionals,uses the knowledge and principles of architecture to provide a solution for future design practices.Starting from the study of the users' behavioral characteristics,the author finds out the function of the baby care room in public places and then designs the appropriate space.First of all,this paper is clear about the background of the research,and then,determines the objectives,object,scope,content and methods of the study to design the framework of the study.Through the study of the domestic and foreign development of the baby care room in public places,and the study of the relevant theories,the author finds out the main contradictions.Then,the author raises the core questions-what is the mother and infant room in public places? What kind of space does the room needs?Secondly,the author experiences the space of the baby care room in public places personally and observes the users' behaviors,and obtains first-hand information through field research including observation,measuring,commentary,taking pictures and interviews.Records the states of function,space form,facilities configuration,internal environment,location and distribution,as well as privacy and security aspects of the baby care room in public places,and then compares,researches and organizes the used information to put forward the shortcomings in the design of the baby care room in public places.Then,the author starts to design the space of the baby care room in public places.According to the idea of “behavior-function-space”,the author first summarizes the essence and characteristics of the behavior of mother and infant group in the baby care room in public places.And then finds out the function of the baby care room.Finally,the function is projected into the space,to create a space form for the baby care room in public places.The author distributes questionnaires to allow mother and infant group to participate in the space design,and to collect the necessary design data from the target population.Through the design scale and the facility disposition,the basic form of the space unit such as nursing,breast feeding,feeding,preparing meal,collecting milk and auxiliary is determined,and the space combination design is combined with streamline organization.The author introduces the concept of the use ratio of the space unit?R?,the largest number of people gathered in one hour?M?,the number of users that a single space unit can service within 1 hour?P?,and the number of the space units?N?,which equals the maximum number of the users of the space unit in one hour?R*M?/the number of users that a single space unit can service within 1hour?P?.And uses the proportion of the number of space units(N_nursing: N_{breast feeding}: N_{preparing meal}: N_feeding: N_{collecting milk})to determine the combination of the space units in the baby care room.The author also discusses the spatial partition,location and distribution,internal environment control and safety protection of the baby care room in public places.Finally,the author draws the conclusion of this paper.At this point,this paper answers the core issues raised at the beginning.
