| With rapid development of city construction,city environment was attached with great importance gradually in modern China.In order to promote interconnected relations and development within multiple industries and fields,more and more China international garden Expo was designed and opened with the support of Chinese government,which has markedly improved the quality of city construction and generated more opportunities for regional cooperation over twenty years.City garden,as the most crucial element of the garden Expo,is designed with regional cultural features,eloquently presenting city image to the public.However,repeating regional elements causes a waste of resources along with the development of some city gardens,which obviously runs contrary to the original purpose of opening the garden Expo.Thus,to solve these problems and provide compelling references to the landscape design of city garden in the near future,this paper discusses theme and culture of city garden,analyzes the design concept,theme and culture from the prospective of landscape architecture,explores the most effective way to express the theme and culture of city garden,which will play a pivotal role of injecting vitality into city garden.To begin with,this paper gives a brief overview of the general situation and historical development of city garden and garden Expo,studies the characteristics of city garden,which make a theoretical background for the follow-up studies.Understanding the cultural theme and expression of concepts in the category of landscape,from excavation,extraction,transformation,theme culture style and expression study,clarify the important role of theme culture in city garden in landscape design.These lay a solid foundation for this research.Then,this paper classifies the latest three terms of city gardens based on their themes and cultures.According to the regional garden style,gardening techniques,expression,make an inductive classification.From the aspect of the theme and culture,this paper raises several issues of the present situation of city garden,such as the uniformity of the theme and culture and lack of innovation.Last,To solve these problems,this paper tries to start from the corresponding relationship between the theme,culture and landscape design to make effective suggestions,especially the election of the theme and culture.In the meantime,with the main five elements of theme and layout,spatial level,structure,plant arrangement,material texture,this paper analyzes the innovative ways to express the theme of city garden.Moreover,this paper explores the specific expression of each city garden and sums up the method to express the theme and culture of city garden,according to excellent examples with high quality design. |
