In this paper,taking Yinsong Water Tunnel Project as engineering background,researches were did on the verification of the design and performance of large diameter hard rock TBM made in China the first time.The Yinsong project design and geological conditions were introduced firstly,and the tests of the mechanical properties of the surrounding rocks were performed,which lays the foundation for the study of the relationship between TBM tunneling performance and the geological parameters.Then,considering the project geological conditions,the analysis of TBM type selection,main technical parameters design,and the features of TBM were given.The design of TBM cutterhead and rock support system was tested and verified at the jobsite.Based on a great number of jobsite data collected during TBM boring,the tunneling performance of TBM was statistically analyzed and compared with other projects,and the correlation between TBM tunneling performance and geological parameters or tunneling operation parameters was studied,and the main parameters design and performance of TBM were tested and verified.It was shown that,the design of the cutterhead and cutter arrangement was proper for achieving high penetration and advance rate,and the disc cutter performance can reach the international advanced level and reduce the cost;the rock support system design including rock drill,ring beam erector and shotcreting system were reliable and match with TBM advance rate,and can make the TBM getting though the bad geology tunnel sections safely and efficiently.The maximum TBM penetration rate is over 7.2 m/h,average TBM monthly advance is 624 m,TBM utilization is more than 40%,TBM availability is better than 90%,reaching the international advanced level;The correlation of TBM penetration or advance rate with the geological parameters or tunneling operation parameters can be a good reference for the future TBM design and performance prediction.
