Wheel is an important part of a car chassis system,and it’s the transmission of the driving force. The vehicle safety and reliability of the car are based on the structure and performance of the wheels,which closely links with the driver and passenger’s life,so the test on the wheel’s performance is an indispensable step in the process of design and development.In this paper, the test results are based on the results of field test. The main content of the paper is the test of the project and equipment, and the test process and the results analysis.Performance test is divided into three big projects,which are the material performance test, the wheel performance test and the coating performance test. Material performance of the aluminum alloy material wheel includs the test of the hardness and tensile strength; The wheel performance test includes the impact test, flexural fatigue test and the radial direction test,which is the guidelines must abide by of the wheels industry.Coating performance test is divided into eight projects, salt fog test, adhesion test, acid resistance, alkali resistance, water resistance test, solvent resistance, oil resistance and pencil hardness test.The structural strength is an important performance of the wheels.Finite element technology is applied in the strength analysis of aluminum alloy wheel impact test.According to experiment condition, Getting the wheel and impact support stands as a whole, seting up the finite element model,through the analysis on the model, finding the part of fracture prone to failure,and then,comparing with the impact test.The results show that the analysis and test fit together, which shows that the model is reliable.In this paper, the research work about the strength analysis of the aluminum alloy wheel, ideas and methods have great versatility and engineering practice value,and get a large economic benefits for the cooperation Company.
