As the traffic demand growing rapidly,the imbalance between the traffic demand and urban road supply become more serious and an effective methods for alleviating the conflict is needed.Then,the emergence of dynamic lane management is proposed as a new method in recent years.For avoid or delay the urban road large-scale expansion,based on the characteristics of space-time changes for traffic demand,dynamic lane management method could dynamically adjust the direction or orientation of the lane-use to maximum the use of road space resources.In this paper,three dynamic lane management method at 4-leg signalized intersection were studied.The research on the contraflow left-turn lane operation and sorting strategy mainly contains 4 aspects as followed:(1)Introduce the application scenarios of the contraflow left-turn lane operation and sorting strategy.(2)Design the traffic control device of the intersection with contraflow left-turn lane and the intersection with sorting areas.(3)Develop the signal operation mechanism of the intersection with contraflow left-turn lane and the intersection with sorting areas.(4)The simulation models are built by using VISSIM during peak periods,and the simulation show that compared with the conventional intersection,setting up contraflow left-turn lane can effectively improve the operation performance of the intersection.When the roadway space is limited in the intersection,the adoption of the sorting strategy can achieve a small delay in the intersection.However,the number of stops is increased.In the research of hybrid dynamic lane operation,firstly,according to the principle of channelization at the conventional intersection,the traffic control device of the intersection with hybrid dynamic lane were designed;secondly,through the linkage control of zipper and changeable lane-use signs,the process of lane change of hybrid dynamic lane is studied;finally,based on the analysis of simulation experiments,the feasibility of hybrid dynamic lane were studied,The simulation results show that the hybrid dynamic lane operation can effectively reduce the delay of the intersections,and balance the use of the roadway space.
