Global warming is a significant environmental problem for human being’s survival and development.Nighty percent of the global warming is owing to the greenhouse gases arousing by human activities,which carbon dioxide has the biggest influence among them.Therefore,to reduce carbon emissions is an important issue concerned by the world.Carbon emission in building field is one of the major source of carbon emissions,thus,to reduce carbon emission in building is a task brooks no delay.However,low-carbon buildings in China have failed to develop as far as green buildings.Hence,based on assessment standard for green buildings,the research implement the measure and assessment of carbon emissions in the standard,can be reference for promoting the low carbon buildings.First,the research established a comprehensive and practicable model based on Life Cycle Assessment.Lifecycle is divided into plan and design phase,building materials preparing phase,construction phase,use and maintenance phase,demolition and disposal of waste materials phase.The model parameter and calculating method is given in each phase.Using the model and assessment standard,the research compared the differences between green building and common building.A real green building’s lifecycle carbon emission is calculated using the model.It is revealed that the case has 87449 t carbon emission during the whole life cycle,which each phase is accounted for 0%,17.49%,0.72%,77.65%,4.13%.Meanwhile,as the case is a two star green building,many green measures have been taken to get the credit,due to these green measures,the building reduce 23056 t carbon emission,that is 20.8% less than common building.The research analyzed four main green measures’ economic benefit and environmental benefit based on the case and relevant literature :Improving performance of retaining structures,improving the energy efficiency of air conditioning heating system,green land carbon sink,lighting energy saving.This four measures have really good benefit in the long term.It can be concluded that green measures,especially these four measures should be promoted for long-term benefits.Finally,by comparing some word-wide green buildings’ carbon reducing metrics,the essay offered some advice for Assessment Standard for Green Building in China.
