Leakage in water distribution systems is a worldwide problem in water supply industry.The occurrence of leakage not only leads to a waste of resource and energy,but also bring huge economic losses and potencial risk to the society.Together with the present situation of water resources serious shortage and the improvement of demand under the rapid development of economy,it's a imminent task for us to reduce the leakage in water distribution systems.In this paper,in order to locate the leakage,it carried out the analysis to three aspects contents that pre-judgement of leakage area,optimization layout for pressure loggers and leakage localization.Firstly,in order to solve the problem of the large and discrete scope of variable,a method was proposed based on the main leakage factors,the data of pipe attribute and flow.Improved analytical hierarchy process was adopted to conduct the weighty analysis based on three-scale method.And the usability of the method was proven by a case study.Secondly,pressure sensitive matrix was established based on the hydraulic model to optimize the pressure loggers combined with Fuzzy c-means algorithm.And the case study shows the distribution of the pressure loggers are uniform and it can reflect the pressure fluctuation,playing a foundation for the leakage localization.Thirdly,the leakage locating model was established based on the relationship between leakage and pressure.Then PSO algorithm was adopted to optimize the solution based on the pressure data and simulization tool.And the usability of the method was proven by a case study.Meanwhile,the comparision analysis was conducted under different pressure monitoring number,leakage coefficient,the maximum number of leakage node and working conditions of water demand.The results indicate that the locating result is more accurate with more pressure monitoring number and a bigger leakage.For the leakage of a single node,the optimization result is more close to the actualities under the actual number of leakage node.Meanwhile,it's better under the working condition of a less water demand.Finally,the leakage locating method was applied to the experimental network system and real network.The result shows it can locate the leakage node or the adjacent areas,implementing the effective leakage localization.
