| In Cambodia,there is currently no expressway owing to lagging traffic infrastructure construction.The national highway is to be equivalent to the third class highway in China,and the pavement type is asphalt concrete or asphalt surface treatment.Due to the conservative design concept,partial roads have been damaged with the increasing traffic volume and heavy vehicles recently and bad environmental conditions,and have a serious impact on operation,which needs to be repaired urgently.Based on the highway from Kratie in Cambodia to Cambodia-Laos border restoration project,the paper analyzes the typical road diseases and puts forward the concrete treatment technology.In this paper,the geological and hydrological conditions and damage conditions were investigated in detail along the highway from Kratie Cambodia-Laos border.It is found that subgrade damage is mainly caused by the poor subgrade waterproof and drainage design and the improper daily maintenance in some road segments.Typical road diseases are rutting,potholes,cracks,etc.The causes of these diseases can be summarized as follows: the thin asphalt surface of the original pavement surface course,the heavy load traffic,the high-temperature and rainy climatic conditions and the shrinkage cracking characteristic originating from semi-rigid base.According to the traffic volume forecast,the road traffic grade is determined.Combining local hydrogeological conditions and socio-economic condition,the paper selected the typical asphalt pavement structure by pavement structure alternative.The pavement repair plan is worked out after determining the reinforcement of the old road and the thickness of each layer of the newly constructed pavement by measuring of the elastic modulus of the old road and the road structure mechanical calculation via software.This paper can provide a reference and guidance for the disease treatment and rehabilitation of other roads in Cambodia and is of great significance to promote highway construction in Cambodia. |
