The Study On The Waterfront Landscape Design Of University Campus

With the rapid development of China’s economy,higher education is booming and the university recruitment of students scale is increasing as well year by year,and its teaching conditions cannot meet the needs of teachers and students in colleges and universities.For the reason of that our country’s colleges and universities take many measures such as the school merging,the original campus expansion,the reconstruction of new campus and the college town.With the reconstruction and development of the college,the campus landscape planning and design is filled with vitality.It’s understood that the campus waterfront landscape is significant as one of an important component of the campus landscape.This paper takes the reconstruction of the waterfront landscape in Jilin Agricultural University into a practical case by using the literature method,the case method,the observation method,and studies the campus waterfront landscape as well.Through the literature research,the case analysis and the design practice,the paper sums up such strategies of the renovation and design on the campus waterfront landscape as to provide reference for related research.In the study of the campus landscape both at home and abroad,there are few studies on the landscape reconstruction of old schools.What’s more,the research angle of which is too general and lacks ecological protection consciousness.Therefore,its development trend will pay attention to the campus landscape renovation and design of the old campus,and strengthen the study of space and ecology of the campus waterfront.In the study of the urban waterfront landscape at home and abroad,it lacks of emotional,spatial connectivity and the characteristics of regional culture research,so its development trend is strengthening the research of this three aspects.This paper will be analyzed from the two concepts of the campus landscape design and waterfront landscape design,defining the campus waterfront landscape design for the space and the adjacent waters within 400 m of land space landscape design.In the campus landscape cases,the paper analyzes the landscape design in the Sorbonne University and Nanjing University Of Science And Technology from the aspects of sculpture and plant design.And in waterfront landscape cases,it analyzes the system in the Boston Park and the landscape design in Hefei Moat Park from the aspects of water system,space activities and culture.And in the case of the campus waterfront landscape,it analyzes the landscape design in the University of British Columbia and Zhengzhou University from the angles such as characteristic space reconstruction,plants and bridge road.Above of which will all provide the reference for the latter design practice.In the practice of the reconstruction and design of campus waterfront landscape in Jilin Agricultural University,the paper chooses the specific design from the five angles of the sensory connection,the space,the revetment,the water body,and the plants.Besides,it plans the site into five areas for the leisure activities,the leisure stay,the image display,the waterfront,and the landscape production,expecting to play a role in promoting the research and practice of the campus waterfront landscape design.Finally the paper puts forward the strategies on the campus waterfront landscape’s reconstruction and design,expecting to strengthen the bonds of the waterfront space through the sensory connection and to make the campus waterfront space become the carrier of emotion between teachers and students and campus cultural expression.And it also carries the expectation of reducing artificial hard revetment and increasing the natural revetment type.What’s more,creating a flexible water landscape and cultural implication of native plants and enriching the campus culture landscape are necessary.
