Concrete Face Rockfill Dam(CFRD)is recognized as a kind of most economical damtype in the world,Since this type of dam was introduced into our country,it has become one of the highly competitive dam in hydraulic and hydropower construction.CFRD mainly relies on the concrete slab on upstream to control the seepage.And in order to maintain the integrity ofslab which is large and thin,we usually set up joint sealing structures to prevent the seepage.Though the joints relieved the slab's stress and strain condition,but at the same time,itsown stress conditions become more complicated.In cold areas water freezes with a certain thickniss,the icewill generate thermal expansion force with the increase of temperature,this force will have adverse impacts on the slab and sealing structure.Firstly,the ice constitutive models are introduced in this paper.Then,simulation calculation of the transient temperature field and stress field within ice were carried out through the ANSYS APDL parameterized command language,and the general distribution lawof its internal temperature and stress fieldwere obtained.The transient temperature and stress field are concentrated in the upper part of ice with a range of about 15 cm,and with a nonlinear change.The maximum expansion force appears in the ice's surface.Under different constraint conditions,the stress value is different.In the situation of surrounding by vertical walls,the maximum stress value is about 0.369 MPa.Then,applying the icetemperature expansion force on concrete slab and the sealing structure,to carry out stress and strain analysis,the results show that:The ice temperature expansion force has less impact on slab,it can be ignored;The slab's stress in X-direction shows a maximum value of 2.73MPa;Stress on the rubber cover of sealing structure shows a maximum value of 15.8MPa,The strain influence on the rubbercoverandflatsteelshould be paied attentionto.
