The bridge expansion joint is an important part of vehicle system. The safety and economy of the bridge depend on the exact calculation of the expansion amount, rationality to select for the expansion joint and the quality requirements for construction and installation. So analysis the influencing factors and calculating measure of bridge expansion joint, makes for developing the new product and reasonable selecting of expansion joint. This paper bases on the using condition of the bridge expansion joint, in the case of Yibin Bridge and Sanchaji Bridge, investigates from the following three aspects:(1) The cause of the disease of the bridge is analyzed through the study and survey of the bridge expansion joint.(2) Analysis the basic factor of influencing quantity of expansion joint, including the seismic load and wind load, the calculating formula and measure of expansion amount. It provides reference to the design and calculation of expansion joint.(3) According to these factors as the parameter, this paper investigates that the expansion amount is influenced by the change of the finite element parameter. In virtue of the finite element process ANSYS, this paper applies the loads and displacement boundary conditions, builds up the space finite element model. This paper makes the simulation analysis to the structural response of the bridge under the effect of the temperature , seismic-force and wind load etc.(4) The conclusion of this paper is made by the analysis: through the calculation and investigation of the factors of influencing quantity of expansion joint, a new expansion joint is required for the long-span bridge , what can fulfils the large expansion and more direction change.
