In recent years,the construction industry has developed rapidly with the advance of urbanization.But at the same time there have been a series of problems such as low production efficiency and construction technology lag with the high-speed development.The emergence of BIM technology,which is based on information integration and visualization,brings hope to solve these problems,and it also can improve the efficiency of design and construction.Bridge engineering is one of the branches of the construction industry,so it should use the BIM technology to solve the problems and challenges in modeling and construction.Revit is an important modeling software application of the BIM technology,with the characteristics of friendly interface,easy operation and parameterization.From the existing literature,we usually use add-on functions' development to the traditional CAD or use the menu bar command in Revit Structure to build the three-dimensional modeling of the bridge.These methods' have relatively poor target.In this paper,the application of BIM in the construction engineering is simulated to model the components of the cable-stayed bridge,which uses the Revit API to add functions' development in Revit.Finally,we import the 3D model into the Navisworks,add schedule management to established 4D bridge construction model in Navisworks,simulate the construction of the bridge and a section of the supporting girder,and study 4D simulation of the construction process.The main aspects studied in this paper are as following:(1)Based on the introduction of the characteristics of BIM technology and application status and the highway cable-stayed bridge design rules to add functions 'development in Revit,the plug-in use Revit API to add functions' development of the cable-stayed bridge,realize the components of the cable-stayed bridge under the environment of Revit parametric modeling automatically,provides a new method for the three-dimensional modeling of the cable-stayed bridge.(2)Study the application in construction through analysis and processing the generating model and the family in Revit,use the 3D document to simulate the construction of a segmentof girder.Comparing with the traditional drawing expression,3D document is more intuitive,easy to understand the process of construction to the staff member.(3)The model is introduced into Navisworks,and the 4D model is added the schedule information.Study the whole process of 4D construction simulation through the modeling of the whole bridge and a section of the girder.The plug-in of the 3D modeling can realize each component of the cable-stayed bridge,and it can improve efficiency and save time for the designer who can spend more time in the optimization and selection comparing with the traditional modeling methods.
