In recent years,automobile airbag module in the occupant passive safety protection has a high effectiveness,its performance and related technology development have been more and more extensive attention.In order to ensure the reliability of the airbag module in the occupant protection,a large number of tests are required both in the design stage of the airbag module and in the performance verification phase.And these airbag modules cannot be restored after use,the main reason is that the airbag gas generator is not reusable.In view of this problem,this paper has studied a kind of reusable automobile airbag gas generator to replace the ordinary gas generator used in the series of static test of automobile airbag.Firstly,this paper has introduced the structure and composition of the gas generator.According to the requirements of the relevant domestic and foreign regulations,the use of bolts has been adopted to connect the upper and lower shell of gas generator on the basis of the design of traditional pyrotechnic gas generator so that the problem can be solved.Secondly,those dimensions of the reusable gas generator have been calculated with the theoretical knowledge of mechanical principle,and the strength of the gas generator shell has been analyzed and verified with the fluid-solid coupling method based on the computational fluid dynamics theory.Then,according to the requirements of foreign vessels in the closed container test and pressure vessel regulations in China,a container used in the closed container test has been designed and analyzed,and according to those characteristics of the closed container test,both of heads of the closed container have used the structure involved an oval head and a flat cover.In addition,in order to verify the effectiveness of the reusable gas generator,this paper has built a closed container test system by a software named LabVIEW involved the virtual instrument technology,the test process of the internal pressure of the container and other signals were measured.Finally,according to the foreign regulations,the evaluation method of the gas generator is put forward and the test results are analyzed.The experimental results have shown that the pressure time curves of the two are basically consistent.An ordinary gas generator who is looked as a standard at 37.9ms has reached the maximum gas pressure 184.75 KPa,while 20 closed container tests about reused gas generator have displayed that the mean pressure-time curve at 35 ms has reached a maximum gas pressure of 180.85 KPa,not only the numerical difference is small,but also the pressure characteristic points fall within the curve of the test window.It has indicated that the gas production of the reusable gas generator can meet the requirements.
