Mechanical seal has been an indispensable sealing device in the field of petrochemical,unclear power, shipping, etc.. To adapt to complex operating conditions and run for a long time,continuous breakthrough of mechanical seal's structure and performance should be made, and improvement in its monitoring system should be achieved. Based on previous studies, this thesis makes an improved innovative design of mechanical seal test device. Proposed two sets of test seal symmetrically arranged on the sleeve to achieve the equal pressure adjustment, used the friction of seal pair to support flexibly with single cantilever cavity structure and the face friction torque without interference measurement scheme, to solve the problem of high parameter condition of mechanical seal performance test. The main contents include:(1)Solidworks 3D, an engineering software, was used to establish a mechanical seal test device of high parameter. It included the design of cavity, end cover, main shaft and shaft sleeve,the calculation of drive power and the assembly of sealing medium pipeline supply system.Feasibility of the design was verified through check calculation and assembly modeling.(2)Based on the problems of sensor power supply for wireless torque measurement, a self-powered programme was proposed for torque measurement with rotation of the shaft. The relationship between the output voltage and speed was analyzed and tests were conducted on the built test platform. Based on the demand of power supply voltage of sensor transmitting circuit, a voltage stabilizing circuit was designed. It could achieve stable power supply output of 3.3V at different speeds. The sensor was calibrated, and a torque testing system with the function of stabilizing the self-powered supply with the rotation of the shaft was built.(3)Lab VIEW was used to develop a data acquisition system. It included the function of real-time display, process and playback of parameters such as face friction torque, face friction temperature, medium pressure, medium temperature, spindle speed and so on. Also methods for solving face friction temperature, face friction torque and friction coefficient of sealing faces were studied.(4)It was verified by experiment that it is practicable to establish a mechanical seal test system on the self-powered platform rotating with shaft. The values of friction torque and friction temperature were close to theoretic calculated values which confirmed the reliability and stability of the self-powered system and the measurement accuracy of the test system.
