As unique architectural form in Chinese history,masonry pagodas are an important part of cultural heritage in our country,which have important value on studying ancient China,including culture,religion,art,economy,diplomacy,etc.Compared with the general high-rise buildings,masonry pagodas has the following characteristics: firstly,it is special high;secondly,the compressive stress of the foundation is too large;thirdly,it is easy to incline and emerge brittle failure.For this reason,the inclination control and strengthening project is more risky and more difficult.The structure and foundation are considered separately in common high-rise building design,but the tilt and structural damage of the tower is caused by structure and foundation interaction.In the tower stability analysis and correction reinforcement design,the influence of interaction cannot be ignored.Considering interaction and taking Thai tower on Xunyi county of shaanxi province as the research object,this paper analyzes the stability and rectification reinforcement technique of Thai tower.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)This article introduces the background of the protective correction engineering on Tai Pagoda,and conducts a comprehensive investigation of the disaster with the foundation,cracks and deformation,then produces results.(2)This paper uses the traditional evaluation method to analyze the safety stability of the tower.According to Tai tower engineering examples,the method of effectiveness evaluation is proposed by taking the associative degree of mass,integrity and soft-hard foundation.This method can be used as a large-scale masonry pagodas stability evaluation reference.(3)Finite-element method is used to determine the Thai tower overall buckling critical inclination of failure face,which helps analyze the stability of initial 3 degrees incline of the tower.Tai tower rescue and rectification work is very urgent.Stability analysis results provide theoretical guidance and data-support for rectifying the reinforcement work.(4)Foundation elastic modulus which has important influence on distribution of the foundation stress and displacement of tower were studied with finite element method.Results show that appropriately increasing the foundation stiffness has positive impact on weakening upper structure stress of the tower.With the foundation stiffness increasing,this effect is gradually weakened.
