Due to the increased life expectancy and the decreased fertility rate, the population is aging. The accumulation of the elderly population is one of the typical character of the demographic aging. The proportion of aging population tend to increase in 20-30 years. The human being make the life expectancy longer, with the development of medical technology and improvement of living environment. However, the healthy life expectancy is not going up with the increasing of life expectancy.Based on the epidemiological analysis,it is experiencing the epidemiological transition, with falling in disability related to infectious diseases and marked increases in disability related to cerebrovascular disease and arthritis. In the later life of aging people usually lives with several diseases, stroke occupied a large proportion, staying in second. Therefore, the post-stroke rehabilitation plays an important role in the later life. The place for rehabilitation is mainly home-based,except the inpatient rehabilitation units, outpatient units and the nursing home. The patient can live in the most comfortable and convenient environment, but the disadvantages are lack of the motivation for recovery,it narrowed down the effect of rehabilitation in a large extent. The paper focuses on how to optimize the post-stroke rehabilitation experience in order to motivate stroke patient in the long-term recovery. The methods of collecting information are literature and interview. In the procedure of design part,I choose giga-mapping and storytelling methods to generate ideas and promote the design. Then I apply the usability testing method to gain feedback and suggestion on the prototype. The paper provides a independent living system for seniors based on wireless sensornetwork, incorporating the notion of gamification as well as applying transmedia storytelling system. The aim of the project is to keep aging stroke patient taking rehabilitation exercise in order to become as independent as possible and to attain the best possible quality of life. The ultimate goal of the project is,in narrow sense,to stretch the healthy life expectancy to enhance the happiness in late life.In broad sense,It is to relieve the negavition of demographic aging to decrease the socioeconomic burden.More importantly,it contributes to increase the health in older age.
