The importance is obvious of ultrasonic scalpel as a tool for single hole minimally invasive surgery.However,the probability of fatigue fracture is very high because ultrasonic scalpel endures ultra-high cycle of load when it working.From the perspective of safety,intensive research on fatigue damage behavior of ultrasonic scalpel under high frequency vibration load is of great significance for the optimization design and fatigue life prediction of ultrasonic scalpel.In the first part,the working principle and system composition of the ultrasonic scalpel are expounded,including the design of the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic horn.And the design of the longitudinal vibration modal of ultrasonic scalpel based on the theory of acoustic wave propagation in pole.By analyzing its modal and harmonic with the finite element,the vibration modal,amplitude and stress distributions are obtained.The vibration characteristics of the ultrasonic scalpel are analyzed with the result of finite element analysis,and the structural optimization scheme is proposed.And the simulation results are validated by experiment.In the second part,the fatigue life of the ultrasonic scalpel is studied by using stress-life method and fatigue damage mechanism.The selection and modification of S-N curve and the determination of damage parameters are discussed.The fatigue life and dangerous sections of the ultrasonic scalpel is obtained by ANSYS nCode Designlife software,which provides the reference information for the further ultrasonic fatigue experiment of ultrasonic scalpel.
