The Research On The Design Strategy Of Communication Space In The Universities Of The Aged In The Pearl River Delta Region

This essay focuses on the behavior of the old students in the universities of the aged in the Pearl River Delta region under the background of aging,and the design strategies of various spaces carrying these behaviors.In the early stage of the thesis,the author has a theoretical understanding of the university of the aged,the communication behavior and the communication space.through the research of data on "Communication and Space" and "External Space Design",Combined with the research on both the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly,the author comes out the framework of the communication space,which is divided into three parts: the external communication space,the interior communication space and the negative communication space.Under the guidance of this framework,a field research is conducted among a number of high-level universities of the aged,especially focusing on the physical environment of the elderly university,as well as the behavior of older students.On one hand,through the investigation and research,counting statistics and analysis of the behavior of the old students,the characteristics of the behavior of the old students are analyzed,and the relationship between the trainees' behavior and the architectural space of the old university has been obtained through the tense observation.On the other hand,through the physical environment of the universities,the author conducts a careful analysis of the key objects of study and find some real cases that may contribute to the coming theoretical study.Based on these two aspects of the analysis,we find some characteristics both on the physical environment and the behavior of the old students of the universities of the aged in the Pearl River Delta region,and puts forward the problems found in the survey.After the theoretical and field research,we divide the communication space nodes into different types,and analyze these nodes item by item.Through the study of the spatial characteristics of the communication space nodes,the corresponding design strategy are given for each space node.Finally,the essay summarizes the improvement strategies of the existing universities and the design strategies of the new universities: the existing universities need to excavate the surplus value of the "surplus space".The new buildings have to consider some different aspects,mainly about the diversity of activities and the needs of the old students,the regionalism of the Pearl River Delta and the sustainability,under the guidance of holistic strategy.This paper hopes to carry out a series of studies on the elderly universities in the Pearl River Delta region,which will provide some design basis for the construction of the old universities in the region and improve the quality of daily and study life of the elderly students,so that they can enjoy the happy old life.
