Nowadays skyscrapers, overpasses, light rail, subway, Shopping Mall constitute the standard modern urban image; which facilitate life for people in several aspects. Meanwhile, they also make people's lifestyles increasingly identical and cause the lack of urban locality—the same modern urban mode. In order to keep away from such situation and fully exploit the regional characteristics of architecture, Barragan.L on behalf of a new generation of architects turned on the tide of new regionalism architecture and deeply influenced the architecture industry in China as well.The Pearl River Delta region is the core of China's reform and opening up areas, the window of the development of China in the last 30 years. Therefore, the research and exploration on the new regionalism architecture of that area has a paramount representative significance in china.Firstly, the regional characteristics of the Pearl River Delta Region study is used as the starting point, the architectural characteristics of the Pearl River Delta Region are recollected from several aspects such as natural, cultural and traditional architectural features. Besides, the regional characteristics are classified and distinguished by external and internal comparison. Then the regional characteristics are linked to architecture creation to discriminate the featured elements for architecture design. Secondly, the new design techniques of the new regional architecture in the Pearl River Delta Region have been discussed from several aspects like natural, cultural and traditional architectural features. After that, the design methods are analyzed and summarized with actual architectures. Finally, the general principles of new regional architectural creation of the Pearl River Delta region have been reached.The author hope that through this research, the discussion about new regional architecture creation of the Pearl River Delta region from a new angle, the conclusion to some methods and principles for new regional architectural creation, which can provide new ideas and references for the new regional architectural creation of Lingnan region and other regions in China.
