Fuhu Temple is located in the Mount Emei foothills,630 meters above sea level,which is one of the important nodes of the low mountain tour area.Fuhu Temple is on the right of Baoguo Temple,and walk through Laifeng Pavilion for one kilometer,you will see it.Mount Emei Journal describes the temple: “It has three floors in every direction,and it's very grand to be the first magnificent temple of Mount Emei.” Fuhu Temple is nestled in the lush forest around,so people always call it “The hidden yield tiger by jungle”.Fuhu Temple was built with the mountain on the potential,and designed the palaces because of the site.Fuhu Temple complex as Mount Emei's largest Zen building complex,which embodies the Emeishan Zen Buddhism culture,mountain building layout techniques and the construction of western Sichuan area construction characteristics,those are all worthy of further study and research.Starting a more comprehensive study of Fuhu Temple from the the perspective of architecture in this paper.The full paper is divided into four parts: the origin and evolution of the architectural culture of the Zen monasteries in Mount Emei,the historical evolution and location layout of Fuhu Temple,the environmental space characteristics,and the geographical features of the building.First of all,starts it from the historical revolution of regional culture in Mount Emei,and analyzes the evolution of Emei Mountain from Taoism to Buddhism culture,then settles on the development of Zen in Emei Mountain.Secondly,analyzes the essence of Zen.Analyze how Zen influences the architectural layout of the monasteries with the combination of BaiZhangQingGui.And contrast the evolution of the Zen monasteries' layout since Tang Dynasty.At last,on the basis of the present situation of Mount Emei monasteries,this paper summarizes the characteristics of the Qing Dynasty Zen temple in the Mount Emei temple complex and the regional characteristics of the courtyard layout.Fuhu Temple has a long history,but the existing buildings are built by Guanzhi Monk,Kewen Chan master and other people over about 20 years.The scale of temple has undergone some changes,but the main part has always been retained.Through the analysis of the site selection of buildings,we can find out the characteristics of the integration of the landscape.And with the combination of the layout of the Zen monastery in the Qing Dynasty,found that Fuchu Temple did not pursue a strong symmetry and worship of the temple,but formate a special Buddhist architectural layout which takes “courtyard” as a unit.Also the characteristic layout integrates the mountain features and functional requirements.“The hidden yield tiger by jungle” is the basic characteristic of Fuhu Temple.Hiding the temple by the space-time-rhyme entrance sequence,and the various architectural forms.The architectural space of the mountain is not only reflected on the treatment of the mountain conditions,but also on the space feelings of the platform.Moreover,the architectural forms and lighting,ventilation and heat insulation,complement each other.It's a model of green building learning.Garden space is unique Zen,and Fuhu Temple also embodies the characteristics of Zen and mountain gardens.At last,returns to the complex itself to study the geographical features of the building.The first is the basic characteristics of “the temple is also home”.It's introversive and polymeric spatial distribution,functional layout and Vernacular dwellings' architectural space together to create a space for both religion and residence.Then through the Comparasion with big wood and wooden traditional practice in Qing Structural Regulations and others traditional,found the construction characteristics of western Sichuan area in Fuchu Temple.
