Because of the faster life rhythm and heavier work pressure,youngsters don't have much time to exercise,so they choose walking and running as their favorite.Wrist pedometer has the advantages of portability,high accuracy,and provides a good standard to promote people to make reasonable exercise program.Therefore the design and implementation of wrist pedometer has great value on commerce and engineering.Within the current hardware design scheme of wrist pedometer based on motion sensors,there are problems of high power consumption,high cost,large dimension,poor engineering realizability and many others.Likewise,there are the problems of poor effect in noise cancellation,poor accuracy,and high hardware platform performance requirement in the current software design scheme of wrist pedometer.This dissertation proposed the solution to solve the above mentioned problems.Starting with analyzing the original and design requirements,this dissertation includes selection and design for the sensors and the processor which are key components in the design of the hardware system.Furthermore,for the design of the software system,this dissertation defined the software block diagrams,and made design and implementation in the raw data pre-processing,the motionless gait judgement,the pedestrian gait judgement,and the step counter computing in considering of performance,consumption,and hardware dependency adding on the detailed methodology explanation.The dissertation used a low power filter to remove the each axis part of the gravity,and used an average smooth filter to remove the noise in the raw data.In addition,the dissertation set the motion simulation models for the motionless gait judgement,the pedestrian gait judgement,and the step counter computing fused with test validation.Meanwhile,the dissertation used many ways to improve the software performance,including dynamic threshold definition,peak detection,which can reduce the computation requirements and consumption,and ensure accuracy.The experimental evaluation consists of test cases definition and test validation comparing with the hot products in the market.As a result,my design has the advantages of lower consumption,smaller dimension,and better accuracy.The design specification is more suitable for mass production: more than one month working time,suitable for the wrist pedometer design and implementation,higher than 99.73% accuracy of the gait computing,and higher than 95% accuracy of the step counter.
