Ancient architecture is a valuable cultural heritage of mankind,in the early days of ancient civilization,the majority of ancient architectures are wooden buildings,which gradually evolved into masonry buildings with the passage of time.With the continuous progress of science and technology,digital means are increasingly applied in the restoration,repair and protection of ancient buildings.Thus,research in the construction of a certain building itself,building model reconstruction,as well as technologies and implementation process of building scene simulation plays a vital role in the protection and restoration of ancient architectures.This paper first discusses and analyzes the application of various technologies in three-dimensional ancient building simulation,which includes building structure,data acquisition and building model reconstruction.Then the applicability and the characteristics of different methods are analyzed.Cambodian Angkor monument was included in the World Heritage List in 1992 by the United Nations World Heritage Organization,which is the representative of masonry buildings,with its architectural structure and layout possessing a strong religious,historical and cultural connotation and inherent law.The Ta Keo Temple is a typical building in the Angkor monuments,forms a connecting link between the preceding and the following in the construction of Angkor architectures and thus has great significance in studying the religious and cultural background,as well as the protection and repair of Angkor architectures.In order to explore the architectural structure of the Ta Keo Temple,we have combined the existing research literature and similar buildings,and used the idea of the semantic network for reference to conduct a more systematic combing(including the spatial layout,the static architectural construction and the dynamic construction process)of Ta Keo Temple.Besides,taking use of its physical remains and semi-finished state,we discussed and confirmed several special points on the layout and the construction process of Angkor Wat buildings so as to provide a base model for the further study of Khmer architectural history and Angkor monuments.Secondly,on basis of studying the expression method of 3D model,the author realizes the reconstruction of the model of Ta Keo Temple building group based on SolidWorks software,and makes a preliminary research and experiment on the parametric modeling method based on this platform.Eventually,the author realizes the scene simulation and construction process simulation of the building group of Ta Keo Temple with Unreal Engine 4,completing the preliminary design of the three-dimensional ancient architectural scene simulation system.
