Chinese ancient architecture and ancient character are the precious historical heritage of the Chinese nation's inheritance over thousand years,both of them are independent and interrelated.From the end of the primitive society,the development of Chinese architecture is mainly the wooden structure.The characteristics of building materials make it impossible to preserve the objects in the pre-Qin period,and now if we want to study the Chinese ancient architecture,the only way is turn to the records of ancient books and archaeological investigations.In addition,another available material is ancient character.Different from other countries,the pictographic features of Chinese characters and the stability of the ancient character make the ancient text show strong realistic and authenticity.Chinese ancient character itself is the "construction" of the situation,including "record" its shape and content,so the Chinese ancient character symbols are the results of highly abstracted form.It can be inferred that the Chinese ancient character can provide fairly correct data,through the analysis of the ancient character of the architecture,people can explore the development of Chinese ancient architecture.The records of ancient books,the archaeological investigations,and the exploration of ancient characters,these three should be compare with each other,and will make us have a more specific and correct understanding on Chinese ancient architecture.Here that this "ancient character" in this thesis,is based on the consensus of modern linguists.It refers to the Chinese ancient characters before the Han Dynasty,including oracle of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties,bronze of the Shang and the Western Zhou Dynasties,character of the Warring States period(including the Spring and Autumn period),and the small seal and the code which retain early seal configuration of the Qin and Han Dynasties.It is not uncommon to study the development of architecture,discuss the ancient architecture through ancient character and use the ancient character as an auxiliary material for the study of architectural history,but the studies are not deep.This thesis hopes to study the relationship between Chinese ancient architecture and ancient character,the external factors and internal causes of this relationship,and then to study the related construction technology and the social background.Use the ancient character to discover the rules and features of the pre-Qin architecture evolution;from the ancient character shape to see the initial shape of the architecture,the future evolution of the form;hope that through the study of architectural evolution and the evolution of the ancient character to find the rules used in the future architectural archeology study,using this method as an auxiliary,the shape and form of the building and the building member can be deduced,and can achieve the purpose of "see the word and construct it".The research results of this thesis will make a deep exploration to the study of the history of Chinese ancient architecture.This thesis begins with the architectural text of “Ying Zao Fa Shi” General Interpretation,explores the construction mechanism of the Chinese ancient characters.This is one of the basis of this study.The main purpose is to explore the theory of take things like when human create characters.It is proved that hieroglyphic is the main structural foundation of the following characters,and proves that it is feasible to look at things through characters.Therefore,the third chapter of this thesis focuses on the architectural text of “Ying Zao Fa Shi” General Interpretation,based on the changes between the character and architecture,and looking for the relationship between them.The fourth chapter mainly discusses all the textual sources and the meaning of the text in the "Shuo Wen Jie Zi",which is used to find the shape or name of different building members in different periods.From these studies,not only can we see the traditional Chinese architectural components with "wood" as the material,but also see the different radicals representing different forms of buildings,such as "cave","top wall buildings","Semi-open buildings","closed around buildings" and so on,these architectural forms corresponding with the radicals.In this thesis,the third chapter and the fourth chapter of the verbatim analysis,provides the ancient character and ancient architecture mutual evidence of external factors,that is,things like,shape corresponding to the shape theory.The fifth chapter of this thesis is the essential part,which extracting the commonality of the Chinese ancient characters in the individual study of previous two chapters,and summarizes the architectural characters of the ancient classics through morphological,semiotics and visual form.And analyzes the specific conditions of the formation of the two themes of this thesis,and provides the internal causes of the relationship between the Chinese ancient characters and the ancient buildings.It also analyzes the building type,form,materials and components of the time line and the development characteristics and architectural humanities of different times.At the same time,through the above scientific theory,also extracted the identified architectural text with qualitative representation of the text "component",as a symbol,as a recognition tool in the future archaeological unearthed ancient character or ancient building.The fifth chapter finally compares the cuneiform and Naxi hieroglyphic base of the building vocabulary in the same basic national language system to find "hieroglyphic" for each card has more relationship.With the expectation of the above research and analysis,a new research method "ancient form analysis method" is proposed,which will be used to assist the study of Architectural Archaeology in the future and to trace the origin of ancient architecture.In summary,this thesis analyzes the relationship between buildings,components and Chinese ancient characters according to the characters of the original Chinese characters,and explores the importance of the characters for the social form study at that time.The study uses architectural visual form dynamic theory,architectural morphology,semiotics to explain architectural phenomena,focusing on the combination of theory and culture.Thus to see a deeper level of building information on the heritage and thickness,and provide data and research paths for the study of the history of pre-Qin architecture which lacks material information.
