Accidents have serious impact on the intercity railway because of high-speed and high-density operation of the train. Therefore, all possible disasters such as natural disasters(strong winds, heavy rains, heavy snow, and earthquakes) and sudden disasters (foreign bodies invading rail boundaries) should be fully monitored. The paper takes foshan-zhaoqing intercity railway as an example, and puts forward programs of sensor selection, monitoring sites selection and device installation of monitoring subsystem including wind, rain, and invading of foreign bodies. The programs are based on the results of the survey on the natural environment along the route, and transport situation of foshan-zhaoqing intercity railway. The main contents are as follows:1?According to analysis of meteorological conditions such as wind and rain along the intercity railway and the terrain conditions, the paper puts forward programs of monitoring sites selection of monitoring subsystem including wind, rain, and invading of foreign bodies.2?The paper chooses to set up 12 wind monitoring points (two sensors located at each location) along the intercity railway after comparison of security and economic against the program of wind monitoring subsystem. Hot-type instruments which monitor wind speed and direction are mounted on the support post, 4 meters above the rail surface.3?The paper chooses to set up 12 rain monitoring points (each set a sensor) along the intercity railway after comparison of security and economic against the rainfall monitoring subsystem program. The pressure sensor type rain gauges are mounted on the support post.4? The paper chooses to set up 12 foreign body intrusion monitoring points along the intercity railway combined with the actual situation at the scene in view of the foreign body infiltration monitoring subsystem program. And use double grid sensor in 11 sections where the road is parallel to the railway and the road is not lower than the railway,and 1 section of Ling mountain tunnel imports.
