As the discrete networking mode can not meet the requirements of WAN-time systems in the smart grid,which resulting in a large type of clocks,difficulties in management and poor performance in clock synchronization.Hence,a high-precision synchronous clock is in need to satisfy the requirement of synchronous clock from the devices within the smart grid.Based on this issue,this paper probe deeply into the theories and algorithms in clock error assessment between satellite clock(GPS clock and Beidou satellite clock)and network clock(IEEE1588).The paper also propose a smart grid WAN Time Synchronization implementation and corresponding error correction method.First of all,The paper analyze the current domestic situation of synchronous clocks,combine with the networking features of the smart grid,points out the existing synchronous clock technology can not meet the actual needs of the power system.Then,this paper build a cost-effective,high precision and high reliability of the Smart Grid WAN time synchronization implementations which based on satellite clock,crystal clock and IEEE 1588 protocol network clock.the idea of synchronization network construction are analyzed and strengths and weaknesses of the program were discussed in detail.In order to enhance the accuracy of satellite clock timing,the paper proposes an improvement of satellite-based timing method which using digital phase-locked loop.Then a design and simulation of a new type of satellite clock timing model are introduced.By using the relationship between average value of the previews period of time and crystal count on the next time,output a high-precision second pulse.Meanwhile,in order to improve the timing precision in network clock,the paper presents and verifies an improved timing network-based approach using weighted and high stable tuning principles.Through the round-trip delay weighted configuration,using historical division coefficients to process crystal tuning and output high stability network clock.To conclude,the theoretical analysis and simulation results show that this scheme can provide high-precision wide-area synchronization timing in smart grid which optimize the resources distribution in wide-area synchronization network,achieve a rational organization for synchronization links and improve the operation of the smart grid.This research lay a theoretical and technological foundation of time synchronization system in smart grid.
