The Study Of The Origins And The Evolution Track Of Chinese And Western Architecture In Modern Wuxi

In early modern times,a large number of Chinese and Western architecture with the characteristics of era developed in Wuxi,which has unique architectural style and high research value,those are the material carrier of historical transformation.Based on the past research on Chinese and Western architecture through space form and modeling characteristics in the static view,this paper attempt to adopt dynamic research method,analyze the contextual relationship hidden in the building surface from the outside to the inside,according to the characteristics in different periods.meanwhile,taking the timeline as the main line of the study,through the analysis of social background and its causes,to conclude and explore the characteristics and evolution track of the Chinese and Western architecture in modern Wuxi.To study the evolution of Chinese and Western architecture in modern Wuxi,we taking “track” as the mainline,and the “prototype” as the breakthrough point of each chapter,so as to find the source of different architectural features presented in each period.Through introducing to the method of “prototype analysis”,this research takes the analysis of construction style as the keynote,and makes an intensive study of the initial prototype that affects the formation development of Chinese and Western architecture in Wuxi.This paper consists of 7 chapter.The first chapter includes the research background and significance,research object,literature review and research methods and framework;the second chapter mainly introduces its generation background and stage division of Chinese and Western building in Wuxi;the third to sixth chapter are parallel chapters,research on different periods each,including generation,initial development,prosperous,recession and transformation of the four stages,presenting the features of modern architecture transformation in Wuxi dynamically.Each chapter analyzes the evolution progress of architecture from the aspects of type,technology,space,shape and style,taking the influence of Western architectural style on that of Chinese traditional as keynote,to reveal the source and evolution track of Chinese and Western architecture in modern Wuxi through the analysis of how the “Western variant” inject “Chinese body” using lots of cases;The seventh chapter makes a comprehensive review of this architectural history,elaborating that Chinese and Western architecture is a watershed in the transition to modern architecture,at the same time,it's a relatively independent exploration with high historical and cultural connotations.
