Study On JiuJiang Ancient Garden

Jiujiang is a famous cultural city with a long history of 2200 years,where the literati and celebrities came together in the ancient time,and has the traffic advantage of convenient waterway and unique natural resources as a harbor city.To arrange and analyze the development process,garden type and garden typical examples of Jiujiang ancient garden and to sum up the evolution history and gardening features of it through the means of literature induction,field investigation and comprehensive analysis and some others which applied in this paper.Influenced by the natural environment,social economy and the unique regional culture,Jiujiang ancient gardens can be divided into five periods: First,germination period: The founded stone chamber and carvings could be classified the prototype of the garden before the Han Dynasty.Second,generation period: Influenced by the prosperity of religion to thrive,the thoughts of reclusion and Confucius,garden types rose richly and the private garden,temples garden and public garden had been built from the Han to the Wei Jin southern and northern dynasties.Third,developing period: In the time of Sui,Tang and five dynasties,the atmosphere of learning in the wooded mountain prevailed.Buddhism and Taoism developed more prosperously and temples garden were more mature.Lushan national studies represent the start of cultural and educational gardens at that time under the environment of highly valuing learning.Fourth,flowering period: In the two Song dynasties,Xiaoyi was paid great attention to and society economy boomed,cultural and educational garden has reached new heights and palace garden developed.The types of garden rose high richly and there were private garden,temple garden,cultural and educational garden,palace garden,ancestral hall garden and public garden.Fifth,stationary period: From the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties to 1840,the influence of celebrities and literati still dominated and the garden in contents and forms stabled in a mature level which the secular interests were put into the garden connotation and gardens were more closer to daily life.Jiujiang ancient garden the culture of literati dominated and pursued natural elegance and stressed that adjusting measures to local conditions,complying with nature.Shan shui has played an important role in Jiujiang ancient garden with the built of waterscape by the water resources of the base which dressed with garden ornaments.The application of the view of point,borrowing view and enframed view matured and ornamental species of planting in the garden had been risen and more attention was attached to the deeper meaning contained.
