Abstract/Summary:
In the recent years, the economic develeopment of Northern Zhejiang is rapidly increasing. The fitness level of the elderly is much improved.Aging has become a topic in the local society. As on the rural area of Nothern Zhejiang where higher percentage of elderly are occupied, the age-care facilities and other public service facilities are disjointed.Meanwhile, other rural public spaces are widely used by the elderly, the phenomenon of which does not have enough attention.Through the investigation and analysis of the public service facilities and its usage of the aged people,it is found that rural public spaces which are not included in the age-care facilities have more potential for the elederly to use. Therefore, the concept of "potential endowment resource" is proposed, focusing on the rural public spaces which are "not included in the rural pension service facilities system, but widely used by the elderly,to meet the physiological or psychological needs of the elderly".In the study of the existing "potential endowment resource",the aged rual people are the object of this recearch. On one side, their daily activities and behaviours were concerned. On the other side, according to the "five old",a survey was undertaken to investigate the needs of the aged people. On these basis, the "potential endowment resource" is divided into "life care","leisure and entertainment","medical security"’ and "elderly education".Then the demands of various types are summed up to reorganize and re-match "potential pension resources" and"demands".Finally,we establish elderly-oriented transformation principles and strategies for all types of "potential endowment resource".This paper is a positive attempt to solve rural old-age problem.Although it may concern about the rural non-pension facilities only, which has certain limitations,we hope to have broached the subject and look forward to a healthy and comprehensive development in the future.
