Transponder plays a crucial role in the underwater acoustic positioning system. This paper has designed a low-power-consumption acoustic responder featured with response and acoustic beacon function, mainly focusing on low-power-consumption design of the digital hardware circuit and the design of the software programs, which lays foundation for the future extension of transponder function. This paper focuses on the implementation of low-power-consumption transponder positioning signal detection. This paper discusses how to implement the single frequency signal detection method with self-adaption notch filter and derives the principle and structure of the filter banks that are the parallel or serial compositions of multiple single-channel self-adaption notch filters. This paper discusses the influences of signal detecting performance caused by parallel structure and serial structure. We simulate the influences using Matlab software and prove the feasibility of self-adaption Notch filter algorithm. This paper mainly completes the low-power-consumption design of the transponder hardware circuitry, which includes a receiver, a transmitter and a digital signal processing circuit. This paper mainly introduces the overall structure, design indexes and relevant low-power-consumption design methods. The system hardware adopts the low-power-consumption design in many aspects, such as the selection of the electronic components, the detailed design of the circuit, the. dynamic management of power, the efficiency of the transmitter power amplifier and the efficiency of power conversion, to reduce the power consumption of the overall hardware system and extend the using time. System software development mainly completes the system driver module and a positioning signal detection algorithm in MSP430F5529.The paper gives integral test on the design of transponder, using the signal source to simulate the positioning signal, detecting the response of transponders and acoustic beacon function, giving a test to the ADC acquisition function, receiver sensitivity and source level and data storage function and the system power consumption of transponder. The results show that the responder can achieve a real-time detection of any signal service, which is complied with the design requirements.
