With the further promotion of the smart grid technology in China in recent years,various types of power users requirements on power management and control level is more and more higher, but low-voltage substation and power distribution station has long been operating in a simple digital and specialist on the technical level.In order to meet the development trend of the modern electric power intelligent monitoring system and develop power monitoring system which can be used in a relatively short period of time, such as industrial power distribution, intelligent building and so on. In this paper, a design scheme of intelligent power distribution monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology is proposed for a lOkV test power distribution station. The program using LabVIEW programming software to achieve the design of the entire monitoring system, combined with the least square method to achieve the power system load forecasting, and using lab VIEW database management tools to manage the collected data.In this paper,the principle of the algorithm to realize the load trend prediction of power system is analyzed first; Second, the hardware structure of this monitoring system is centralized in combination with layered and distributed. The system is generally divided into the field monitoring layer, the communication layer and the system management layer,respectively, to achieve the system of data acquisition, communication management and information monitoring function; Third, the software architecture of the system is designed as third modules: data acquisition, data management and power load forecasting, and The realization of the system monitoring interface is introduced; Fourth, this paper describes the realization of the software data acquisition module, and determines the communication between the field equipment and the communication management equipment using RS-485 serial and Ethernet between communication management equipment and system management. Fifth, expounds the realization of software of data management module,introduces how to connect the toolkit for Access database operation using LabVIEW database, and complete the electrical parameters of the storage, query and curve drawing and data management function.In this paper, the intelligent upgrading and reconstruction of traditional power monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology is realized, which is helpful to improve the intelligent level of the power distribution monitoring system with low voltage level and has certain significance to the intelligent development of power grid.
