In today's society, with the acceleration of economic development and the aging of the population, the health problems of the elderly people have attracted more and more attention. The application and practice of rehabilitation garden for elder people in Western Europe, North America and Japan have obtained a series of advanced theoretical basis and practical experience. The development of rehabilitation garden for elderly people developed late in China, in recent years, with the exacerbation of aging population problem and improvement of people's living standard, the health of the elderly people has attracted more and more attention, which promotes the development of the elderly rehabilitation garden.More and more Rehabilitation gardens appear in the elderly pension institutions or the hospital.In this paper, by doing literature review, case analysis and other methods, the physiological and psychological characteristics of elder people are analyzed. Due to The uniqueness of the elderly people, special requirements for their living environment are needed. it should be considered the indoors green plant project. Based on the basic research data of international scholars, the relationship between the elder people health and rehabilitation of landscape is analyzed. The characteristics of rehabilitation landscape garden and the design principles of rehabilitation, are further summarized for the elderly with the rehabilitation effect of landscape design methods.A lot of literature proves that the landscape environment has a direct relationship with the health of the human body. but also many other needs, including physiological, safety,communication, respect and self-realization. Based on the needs of the elderly and combined with the international research, various factors of different subject are applied into the elderly people rehabilitation garden. It broadens the communication between the various disciplines, and help to improve outdoor environment for elder people. According to the analysis of the status quo at home and abroad, the design of the user's needs as the goal of the design strategy. According to the relevant theoretical knowledge, the author analyzes the physiological and psychological of the elderly as the starting point of the rehabilitation landscape and integrates them into the design of rehabilitation garden for the elderly, and carries out the design practice according to the research conclusion, and provides reference for the research of rehabilitation garden for the elder.
