As the consumer individualization is becoming stronger,and the customer demand is changing more frequently,the traditional manufacture active design pattern cannot meet the needs of current age.It is acknowledged by experts that,if the consumer could participate in the product design process,his/her individualization can be really realized.Now the idea of consumer participation through Internet is quite hot,but the fundamental design theory and method is still of absence.According to this background,a method based on Internet users who participate in product development is proposed in this paper.The advantage of user participation in the Internet environment design was analyzed,and it provided a feasible method for the development of new products.Firstly,the differences between the user participation based on Internet mechanism and traditional design method was analyzed,the implementation method of user participation based on Internet was discussed.Secondly,the method of dealing with user's function information was introduced.Among which,the method of cosine similarity and mean similarity to find similar users to complement the default information was introduced for some users' default information who were not given.According to the user's function information has been complemented using the rough theory and product family theory for product function configuration.Finally,Hair washing machine is taken as an example to illustrate.
