As one of the main forms of civil buildings,residential steel structure is widely concerned with the characteristics of its light and high strength.However,the development of residential steel structure in our country is relatively short,the design level and construction experience is relatively lack,the economy is not very good.In view of these problems,this paper studies the optimization design of residential steel structure,so as to the rational use of steel,reduce the cost of construction,promote the development of residential steel structure in our country.The structural optimization design is a modern design method,which applies the mathematical principle of optimization to engineering design problems in many design schemes to seek the best or the most suitable design scheme.It incorporate the speciality design theory,the optimization methods of mathematics and the computer technology,accommodate a scientific design approach and a significant layout strategy for design engineering,and it can improve design efficiency and design quality.Engineenng science must envisage economic construction,as the ultimate goal of engineering design,the optimization design is of great significance.Based on ANSYS software,this paper uses the APDL language to develop a optimization design program for the optimization design of residential steel structure.Using the optimization design program to optimize the section size of the beams and columns section of the residential steel structure,the optimal objective is to use the lowest total steel quantity,and the relationship between the optimum number of the steel structure and the structure steel,and the size of the structure is given.The program consists of four modules: model,load,postprocess and optimization analysis.The optimization analysis part is the command of the program.It provides the design variables,state variables and objective functions of the optimization design.The first three modules are transferred,and a series of evaluation,analysis,judgment and verification are completed.Finally,the optimization design of the beams and columns section of a six-story residential steel structure is optimized by using the optimization design program.Using zero order method,the optimization design of steel 6.66 t was saved,and the optimization percentage was 15.5%.Compared with the original design,the application of the first order method can save steel 7.12 t,optimize the percentage of 16.6%,and achieve good economic benefits.Through the analysis of the optimization design results,it is found that the first order method is more accurate than the zero order method,and the optimization result is more ideal,but the computation time is longer,and if the initial design variable is not selected,it may converge to the local minimum and thus miss the global optimization solution.Based on ANSYS software,the use of APDL language to develop the optimization design program is applied to the optimization design of residential steel structure.
