Colin Roew's theory of transparency has influenced a generation of the interpretation of the modern architecture, which continued into the contemporary times. As the interpretation of the subject has come to multipolarization, architecture has shown the characteristics of ambiguous and vague in the level of technology and significance. The widespread existence of this"postmodern" feature provides a suitable context for the formulation of translucent concepts.By searching the existing theoretical data, the author finds that "translucency" does not seem to have been stripped from the concept of "transparency",and has become an effective tool to explain many contemporary architectural phenomena. This paper attempts to find the association and distinction between the translucency and transparency, summarize the characteristics of translucency, and applied to the interpretation of architectural phenomena.Compared with the theory of transparency, the author put forward the concept of "literally translucent" and "phenomenon translucent".This paper analyzes the process and mechanism of the two organizations' participation in architectural ideals through the characteristics of "media"and "organization".This kind of expressive, because of these two translucent forms in the visual, perceptual, psychological and other aspects of the "scattering" effect, showing some uncertainty, for the interpretation of contemporary architecture provides a new perspective.Through the discussion of the subject of translucent,it is helpful to understand some positive organizational forces and ideas behind contemporary architecture and other related cultural phenomena,so as to provide the basis and guidance for theoretical analysis of architectural creation.
