Long baseline acoustic positioning system by setting transponders at the bottom of the sea. in order to constitute a certain geometric shape. With the work of transponder unit, buoys unit, underwater target, ship units, navigating and positioning in geometrical intersection method against the underwater target. This paper comes from low power consumption and multi-function transponder unit of long baseline system and mainly designed and realized the internal hardware circuit, beacon software and storage software.Firstly this paper analyzed the requirements of the transponder, then demonstrated the emphasis and difficulty of the design. On this base, this paper elaborates the transponder system design scheme. At last, the paper explains the signal conditioning module, the on duty module, the ranging module, the beacon module and the processing module in detail,completed the design and realization of the hardware modules and each part of the interface program.After the validation of laboratory alignment. pool and lake test, the transponder's feasibility and reliability get proved.
