Under the present situation, the world's population growth is increasing. Due to the pressure on the land resources and environment, the sea has become the world reserve resource base and the alternative area of some major strategic resources. In order to further exploration of the ocean, people create a variety of new sonar arrays by introducing digital signal and image processing technology in underwater acoustic field. In the paper, according to the requirement of recording electrical signal that converted from acoustical signal that the sonar array system received in forty-eight directions ,a set of data acquisition system is designed, with the content of system project design, hardware circuit design and software programming. In the system, the FPGA and OMAP-L138 processor is applied as the master control chip. When the control module is developed, the peripheral circuit contains six high-speed analog-digital converters used for completing the data synchronous acquisition in forty-eight directions. For many sonar arrays can work together underwater, a synchronizer is designed to supervise the time and make sure the start time of data acquisition is synchronized with integral point time accurately. A SATA hard disk with large capacity used for the storage of the data obtained and the filename is named after the relevant time information that provided by synchronizer, providing support for testing the reliability and effectivity of field data and ensuring the follow-up work is expedient.Under laboratory conditions, the functions of the system are verified, and the system performance is tested from multiple aspects. The results show that the data acquisition system designed in the paper implements the functional requirements, meets the desired indicators, works steadily and reliably and reaches the intended effects. At last, in order to test and verify the system's performance, field experiments are carried out in the pool and the Sanya waters respectively, the experimental results illustrate that the data acquisition system works steadily.
