Over the past two decades the museum has ushered in the development of unprecedented prosperity,so new museums have been being built around the world like mushrooming.Museum not only carries art and culture of the city and the region and promotes the development of city's tourism and economy,but also plays an more important role in urban public services,improvement of the city and the community's cultural life.In recent years,China's museums have also cached up with the world to flourish,but in which there are a lot of problems,especially attractions of the museum to the public.There are much different between foreign countries and China,which has also greatly impacts on the role of the museum.This paper is to explore the open design method of the contemporary city museum,from the respective of the architectural design and the people-oriented idea and with the purpose of enhancing the openness of the museum.The author is to summarize the open motivations and traits of the contemporary museums through the analysis and comparision of the present situation and the trend of the museums at home and abroad,then to generalize the open level,from vision to the psychology to behavior,namely from outside to inside,finally to reflection in behavior and to combine the openness to sum up its principles.On the basis of this,the author is to put forward the open design strategy,the compound with the urban,the digestion of the construction interface,the dynamic shaping of the functional space,the spatial organization of participation of the contemporary city museum,which is elaborated from outside to inside,from objects to human,from simpleness to complication.Finally,the paper is to further explain the open design strategy of the contemporary city museum and test it through the author's experience of the design of the Anhui Chu Culture Museum.
