Housing is a space-time carrier of human habitation. In recent years, with the decline of urban environmental quality, residential livability began to gradually into people's vision.Low-rise low-density residential as a high-end residential, its livability is also the focus of academic attention.Northeast region belongs to cold temperate zone, and its regional features is distinctive. But there are few researches on the habitation of low-rise low-density residential buildings in Northeast China. To this end,I study the adaptability of low-density low-density residential buildings in Northeast China, and hope to provide some experience for reference. In this study, the livability is actually the result of the combination of sense of comfort, security, belonging, field and participation and this result continues to evolve over time. Therefore, using Maslow's hierarchy of needs,I corresponded to the basic needs of sense of comfort and security, the psychological needs of sense of belonging and field, the self-actualization needs of sense of participation, and defined the livability as the volume of tetrahedrons, which is based on basic needs, psychological needs,self-actualization requirements, and time. Then I use this as a definition to analyze the influence of policy factors, economic factors, social factors and environmental factors on the livability of low-rise low-density residential buildings in Northeast China. Finally, two basic principles of human habitation design of modern low-rise and low-density residential buildings in Northeast China are established according to the definition:humanism principle and openness principle. In this paper, the habitable design of modern low-rise and low-density residential buildings was summarized and analyzed from three aspects:physical environment construction, space construction and psychological environment construction in Northeast China.
