The Study Of Design Of Entrance To Villages In The Rural Renaissance

Traditional villages,representing deep historical traditions,beautiful natural landscapes and unique regional culture,are unduplicated human treasures.However,with the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,the impact of modern civilization on cultural traditions has led to the gradual decline of traditional villages.In recent years,with the rise of the rural revival boom,the construction of new countryside and tourism development projects of ancient villages have not only brought to the revival of traditional villages opportunities,but also challenges.However,whether the altogether tearing down and rebuilding or the limited repairing does contribute to substantial progress of the revival.Instead,a series of problem have arisen,including lack of vitality in the new rural public space and missing of inherent customs and cultural characteristics in traditional villages.Since public space is an important part of traditional villages,the revival of public space has become the key to the revival of traditional villages.The entrance to a village,functioning as a gateway to the countryside and the transport node,is the most central part of the rural public space.However,as the time goes,image of the entrance to the village has undergone a certain change due to the change in the mode of transportation(from walking,carriage,water transport to the car),as well as the impact of tourism development.On the one hand,the popularity of cars boosts needs in parking space.On the other hand,tourism promotion increases needs in tourist service and cultural display.Thus,how to integrate tradition and modernization and keep protection and development in harmony,therefore creating a diversity of formats of entrances to villages bound with senses of identity is a major issue we are faced with.With situations above taken into consideration,the author has redesigned the entrance to village of Jinping Village,hoping to achieve the following goals.Functionally the entrance can meet the demands of tourism development and bring convenience to the local people;meanwhile,as to the looking,the entrance can coordinate with the mechanism and traditional style of the village,thus not affecting the original human and ecological landscape.Based on the premise,the author,in the designing process,has reorganized processing and operating methods of traffic stream line,functional layout and physical space of the entrance and summarized main points of the entrance design.In doing so,the author hopes to provide some references for the entrance design and public space construction in the village revival.
