Preliminary Study On The Development Trend Of High-rise Building

This thesis is a part of the urban complex and high-rise building series directed by professor Wang Heng,which follows the studies of several research papers.As an expectation of the future,this thesis analyzes the development trend of high-rise buildings.In the history of building development,the existence time of the high-rise building is shorter than the other building types.However,the high-rise building is developing quickly and the importance of the high-rise building in urban environment is increasing in recent years,the research on the development trend of the high-rise building in the future has a certain significance.The thesis starts with the study on the influencing factors of the high-rise building,then combines the history of high-rise building development with the thoughts of contemporary architects,at last analyzes the development trend of the high-rise building.The thesis is divided into two parts.One part concludes the major influencing factors in the process of the high-rise building development by analyzing the history of the high-rise building,then analyzes the future development of high-rise building by deriving the current status and development trend of the influencing factors mentioned above.The other part induces the thoughts of contemporary architects which based on the influencing factors,analyzes the focus and directions that contemporary architects concern,then concludes several points of the future development of high-rise building by combination the two analyses above.Although the title of the thesis is Preliminary Study on the Development Trend of the High-rise Building,the conclusions drawn in the thesis are mainly from the perspective of architecture(architectural functions,public spaces,traffic organization and so on)due to the directions of development in the high-rise building is multifaceted and uncertain.
