Since the adjustment,teaching reform,the expansion of enrollment and the changing of educational philosophy,the number of teachers and students in the school continues to increase and the university campus continues to expand in our country.Now the campus is getting bigger and bigger,the teaching area is more and more beautiful,the external space is more and more spacious.However,did the mistakes of the past and the place where need to be improved get corrected timely?Are there still problems in the design method now? Does the designer's understanding differ from the the user's requirement? These need to be used and then investigate the main user to know.Under these questions,to do a detailed study about the design of external space of the teaching area in Beijing is of great significance to perfect the theory of campus planning and design and enhance the vitality of the external space in the teaching area.The first chapter briefly introduces the development of university campus in our country,the research object and reason for selection,the related concept,purpose and the significance,the dynamic research at home and abroad and clarifies the research method and the frame.The second chapter sorts out the external space design of the relevant content,including the relationship between teaching area and the overall campus,the influencing factors about the formation of the external space in the teaching area,teachers and students' behavior patterns,external space characteristics,some development trends.Furthermore,it is the research on design of the external space of the teaching area--space,interface,traffic.Combining with today's the relevant design method in Beijing,it analyzes above factors,and then puts forward the relevant theory of the research results.The fourth chapter analyzes five typical colleges and universities in Beijing,implements the elements of the previous analysis to the specific individual,gets a comprehensive evaluation of the five research objects,which combined with the questionnaire,the results of the consultation.The fifth chapter is to make suggestions or summarize the successful experiences in the design of the external space of the teaching area,to sublimates of the text of the basic research,and then to put forward the design insights.This paper analyzes the function and roles of the external space in the campus teaching area from the perspective of planning,architecture and users.The paper uses campus planning and design theory,the related spatial theory,the environmental psychology and the behavioral psychology to interpret the relationship between the external space and the teaching area,the teaching building,the relationship between the external space and the teachers and students' behavior patterns in order to put forward the theoretical basis for the design of the external space in the teaching area of the university campus.In the society that focuses on the comprehensive development,the purpose of the study on the design of the external space in the teaching area is to enable college students to have a comfortable and pleasant outdoor space to learn,to participate in activities,and to communicate,which is of great significance to promote the development of non-teaching space,teachers and students in the external space of the teaching area.
