Study On The Beijing Chang'an Avenue Space

This paper takes the Chang'an Avenue space of the old city in Beijing as the research object,including the Chang'an Avenue and related space.The paper divides the points into three categories to discuss Chang'an Avenue space,namely,street space,block and building space,human landscape space.We separate historic and modern Chang'an Avenue by October 1949.First of all,we start with the Chang'an Avenue's historical evolution,including the Chang'an Avenue's spatial evolution,historical events and the factors that affect its evolution,conclude and summary three characteristics from the Chang'an Avenue's spatial evolution factors as follows: first,Chang'an Avenue is the skeleton of the old city of Beijing;second,Chang'an Avenue space is the result of the history superposition;third,Chang'an Avenue is the representative of the national image.These three evolution characteristics form the three research perspectives which are the urban street space,the historic evolution space and the national image space.The chapter 3,chapter 4,chapter 5 are the analysis and studies of Chang'an Avenue space from the above three perspectives,including the street space,the block and building space,the human landscape space.Chapter 3 discusses that from city perspective,the space of Chang'an Avenue,which is the skeleton of the old city of Beijing,analysis and study characteristic of Chang'an Avenue-as the city streets space form,and the cross shaft axis made by downtown and central Axis.Put forward the point that Tian An Men square and the Imperial Palace is binary center of Beijing city.Chapter 4 discusses that from historical evolution perspective,,the relationship between history superposition product-Chang'an Avenue street,block space and historical space.Also,we point out the history space's form and characteristics present in modern Chang'an Avenue.The chapter finger out that the blocks street and building space in Chang'an Avenue is composite evolved by the historical space,the special hierarchy relationship between building space in historical buildings is also reflected in Chang'an Avenue.Chapter 5 discusses that from image perspective,the relationship between Chang'an Avenue space and national image,as well as the spatial expression of Chang'an Avenue form national image.The chapter analysis the relationship between space and national image from the street space,block space and building space,and summarizes the and expression of streets and building space in national image.In the end,we conclude that effected by historical,political factors,the Chang'an Avenue space is evolved from the three characteristics-the main urban space,historical continuity space and the national image,combining ancient and modern style.
