Studies On The Experimental Landscape And The Inspiration Of Chinese Contemporary Landscape Development

Chinese contemporary landscape is in a period of diversified and rapid development currently.Challenges and opportunities coexist,however,some problems have been highlighted such as conflicts between native culture and external culture,incompatibility of tradition and modernity,landscape homogenization and so on.They have led to the loss of urban features,broken the cultural inheritance,weaken the internal driving force,hindered the advancement of landscape subject and the creation of a harmonious human settlement.“Experimental Landscape” is affected and evolved from the concept “Experimental Architecture”.It is a “reform movement” of landscape based on the contemporary situation and a general term of experimental theory and practice which are beneficial to solve problems in the contemporary landscape and to promote academic development and human settlement.It is an exploration of local significance and realistic significance.With an essential feature as criticalness,“Experimental” is a multiple-meaning concept that has characters including advancement,avant-gardeness,openness,uncertainty,etc.In recent years,experimental landscape has become a phenomenon with academic and social influences,complete connotation and thriving vitality.Experimental landscape phenomenon has been focused on so that the typical designers whose theoretical and experimental works which are of experimental features are analyzed and the phenomenon has been discussed through a comprehensive and dialectical way.Studies on experimental landscape cognition do not cover all the significances.It is more important that trying to make inspirations and suggestions for fields including contemporary landscape theory,practice and educational concepts patterns under the experimental perspective which could urge discussions and reflections arisen in order to promote academic progress.According to the research strategy,problems of practice are summarized,measures are generated and integrated into the second practice based on the above background.It is also the three sections of dialectical development process of experimental landscape “practice-theory-practice”.Starting with the critical reflection,contemporary landscape development problems are induced,therefore directions that corresponding to typical problems are taken as the guide,in this way the experimental landscape phenomenon from surface to the center are studied,the backgrounds and the evaluation standards are discussed,the features and the spirits are summarized,the realistic limitations and problems are recognized,the connections between phenomenon and development of contemporary landscape are expounded on the basis of the objective understanding and the thinking modes and specific coping strategies which are of enlightening significance are pursued as a result.Studying on experimental landscape is more an approach than a final goal.Suggestions for both two aspects of improvement strategy and academic education are put forward based on the acceptation of the positive effects.The attitude dealing with challenges is reflected on and the means of integrating experimental ideas into practice are discussed.The criticalness and advancement on which experimental landscape is keeping emphasizing would generate more scientific and forecasting thoughts at both deep and macro levels,which is helpful to improve the human settlement and in line with the long-term interests of landscape development.
