Study On Indoor Signage Systemin Elderly Medical Space

With the continuous decline of physical condition,physiological function and other physical qualities of the elderly,there will also produce some psychological changes.As a result,the elderly patients may encounter more problems in the process of medical services.As the hospital is a public place with a large stream of people,the medical space is relatively complex and medical services process is complicated.It takes a lot of time and effort to go through the process from registration to treatment,which is easy to delay the illness of the patients.Combined with the actual conditions that the elderly patients always have declined physiological function and different disease,it will inevitably affect the whole treatment process for elderly patients if there is no complete indoor guide system with sufficient information and suitable for elderly patients.Therefore,a set of scientific and reasonable sign guide system to provide medical services for the elderly patients exclusively has become an indispensable part of the medical institutions.At present,the domestic research for the elderly medical space signage system is rare.The medical institutions in different regions are lack of indoor space guide system suitable for the elderly patients,which brings great inconvenience to them.This paper first defines the age of the elderly and gives a brief overview of the relevant concepts and theoretical basis.The functional significance of establishing a complete indoor guide system is pointed out.The necessity of the indoor guide system for the elderly patients is also proposed.Then,the status of indoor sign guide system is analyzed based on the field research of medical space carried out in Beijing Geriatric Hospital and Jiangsu Geriatric Hospital.The prominent problems and causes are also found out.The elderly patients are chosen as the main target audience to analyze their visual perception requirements from the physiological factors and psychological factors.The principle of visual perception,design principles,ergonomics,and geriatric cognitive psychology are also combined.The special visual requirements of the elderly patients are analyzed from several aspects including the use of color,text description,graphics symbols,the choice of materials and the use of location and scale.In addition,the complexity of the elderly patients in geriatric medical space is also considered to analyze the special groups of elderly patients.Avariety of novel indoor guide system patterns are proposed to enhance barrier free design,such as light environment guide,sound information guide,tactile guide and multimedia intelligent guide,which are playing a helpful role in information transmission of medical guide for elderly patients.In conclusion,this dissertation takes the elderly patients as a starting point all the time.On the foundation of the specification of indoor guide system for medical space,more attentions are paid to the psychological feelings of elderly patients to find what they really need and which kind of system is suitable for them.The elderly-oriented indoor guide system is designed to achieve conciseness,continuity,regularity,unity and visibility.The recognition efficiency of elderly patients is improved,which makes it possible for elderly patients to hospitalize safely and accessibly with the help of the indoor guide information.The mental pressure of elderly patients can be relieved and a better medical environment can be provided to address the problems encountered in their real life.
