Space Design Research Of Waste Industrial Building Reuse

With the development of economy,the rapid expansion of urban scale,many issues like aging equipment and technological lag arose in succession on the traditional industrial enterprises which are located in urban areas.And these issues result in another series of urban and social problems-low production capacity,severe environmental pollution and so on.Therefore the proportion of traditional manufacturing industry keeps declining,and gradually be replaced by emerging industry.To develop the tertiary industry has become the theme of urban development increasingly,the planning of urban structure and function layout begins to be re-adjusted,in such a background of social development and urban transformation,a large number of idle factories,industrial buildings and facilities which are in the situation of being abandoned and demolished come out in the city's center area.In terms of reusing waste industrial buildings,the overseas theoretical research and development practice have achieved quite systematic,outstanding and effective achievements.In recent years,China has begun to attach importance to the protection of industrial heritage by doing our own theoretical research and development practice in this aspect to make the "waste" become "treasure".But because of starting late,we are still in the infancy of reusing waste industrial buildings.Compared with the developed countries,our practical experience is insufficient,the theoretical development still needs further research and exploration.This subject presents a brief introduction of the development background,the current situation at home and abroad and the significance of reusing waste industrial buildings.By analyzing the cases and summarizing the experience,it can lay a foundation for space design to reuse waste buildings of the Datang Huaibei Power Plant's which are located in Huaibei City.Based on the research of this subject,the thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter One is a brief introduction of background,basis for subject-choice,research's purpose,significance,current situation,methods and definition of related concepts and terms about the subject.Chapter Two focuses on the cases home and abroad how to reuse waste industrial buildings and the analysis of their methods.Chapter Three concerns analyzing the spatial environment of the Datang Huaibei Power Plant from the aspects of regional environment,spatial composition and others.Chapter Four is the key body of the thesis.As for reusingwaste industrial buildingsof the Datang Huaibei Power Plant,itoffers a proposal by the analysis of principle and method from the rule of reuse design,the theme positioning and conception,the spatial distribution and circulation,the decoration and modelling,the color,the light-related environment and so on.Chapter Five is the conclusion which provides the summary of this research.In accordance with the research,this chapter makes an objective evaluation of the differences and shortcomings between China and abroad about waste industrial buildings' reusing.We should learn from the foreign sound design theory and practice methods for reusing with an open mind and try to close the gap.We should improve our sense of responsibility and letmore and more people know the importance of arts and crafts heritages protection.We should motivate the desire which belongs to the relevant departments of urban planning,the architects and the interior designers to reuse and design waste industrial buildings for the work of industrial heritage protection's development.
