A Research Of Project Integration Management Application In Vehicle Engineering Development

The China automotive market has gradually entered into a “new normal” phase after the rapid growth,thus the automotive manufacturers need to bring forward higher requirements to its products so long to ensure its winning position in the market.How to utilize the advanced engineering project management methodology to push new product to meet the market needs within comparatively short time,while maintain high efficiency,quality but low cost during the engineering development process,has become a vital goal for the automotive manufacturers to ensure its ability to compete.The thesis introduced the methodology of project integration management,and studied the situation of program management on vehicle engineering development at Company A,then illustrated the importance of constantly refine process framework,improve management tools and properly configure human resources in large-scaled complex vehicle development project,in the purpose of providing a reference for the engineering development projects for China local auto brands.The Thesis first utilized the project management model to analyze the integration elements in engineering development project.Then by introducing Company A and its current progress on applying General Motors' GVDP as its own development process,it analyzed the project management situation based on the view of integration management.Also,by choosing Company A's Powertrain calibration project and Powertrain vehicle integration project as typical study cases,it analyzed the current management difficulties and demonstrate the integration application activities within each project stages and pointed out the deficiencies in some phases,and also proposed suggestions for optimization and predicted models.At last,the thesis was summarized,and the significance of adopting and applying PIM to local auto brands was looked forward to.
