As a result of the different construction method between precast shear wall structures and cast-in-place structures,window walls are structural members rather than nonstructural components.It has important significance to research the mechanical characteristics and failure mode of precast shear wall structures with window walls and evaluate its seismic performance.Experimental study on the seismic performance of precast shear wall structures with window walls is developed.Based on this,a refined finite element numerical simulation method is proposed.The study reveals the seismic damage mechanism of this kind of structures.Otherwise,preliminary design method of this structure is explored.The main achievements of this study are as follows:(1)Refined finite element models of seven precast shear walls with grout sleeve splicing based on the multi-layer shell are established.Results of numerical simulation are in good agreement with experimental results,which indicates the rationality and reliability of numerical models.And mechanical characteristics of precast shear walls with grout sleeve can be simulated by using the method of being equal to the cast-in-place shear wall.(2)Pseudo-static tests of two precast shear walls with different window wall heights were conducted.Based on this,a refined finite element numerical simulation method is proposed.The experimental and numerical simulation results indicate that a dual coupling beams mechanism is observed when the window wall and the coupling beam below it separate.The window walls can significantly improve the stiffness,load bearing capacity and energy dissipation capacity of this precast structure.(3)Taking a precast concrete shear wall actual structure in seismic intensity VII area as the fundamental object of the study,the numerical model of precast concrete shear wall structure models with short and high window walls are established.Results of study on the seismic performance of these models indicate that the window walls can significantly improve the energy dissipation capacity,decrease the inter-story displacement angle of this precast structure and control structure damage.Thus,the favorable contribution of window walls should be considered.(4)Preliminary design method of precast concrete shear wall structures with window wall is explored.The fundamental object is redesigned as the goal of similar seismic behavior.Results of redesigned models indicate that structures considering the favorable contribution of window walls can obtain thinner wall thickness.As a result,material is saved and cost is reduced.
