The traditional dwellings is the product that complies with the local natural environment and the local history and culture,It has distinct regional characteristics and profound cultural connotation,It is a non-renewable cultural heritage.However,With the rapid development of regional economy and the continuous advancement of urbanization construction,The living space of traditional dwellings is gradually being compressed,and many excellent regional culture gradually disappeared with the demolition of traditional residential buildings.Moreover,the current homogenization,modular architectural design is to deepen the demand for the inheritance of traditional architectural culture.Therefore,it is very important and urgent to salvageable research the traditional dwellings.Due to the complex natural environment and the diverse human environment,It gives birth to the unique art forms of the Mindong traditional dwellings.This paper selects the representatively traditional dwellings of Mindong as the research object,And from the perspective of artistic form characteristics and taking the "description—analysis" as the research approach,Then the following research has been carried out:First,Through the field research,literature review,comparative induction and other comprehensive methods to study and summarize the formal features of Mindong traditional dwellings in the plane layout,internal structure,appearance and detail decoration,etc.Then being shown in pictures,diagrams and text descriptions.Secondly,This paper.focuses on the characteristics of the four aspects mentioned above,and analysis the inherent reasons for the formation of the art form features of traditional dwellings deeply that from the environment in Mindong area,such as the specific geography,climate,building materials,historical culture,family system,Feng Shui,etc.Finally,This paper formulates several protection and utilization principles that should be followed by discussing the present situation and the causes of the problems of Mindong traditional dwellings art forms.And it provides several methods for the protection of Mindong traditional dwellings art forms,and discusses the utilization strategy of Mindong traditional dwellings art forms from the aspects of protection,restoration,tourism development and new architecture creation on the characteristics of the four aspects.It is expected to provide some valuable reference for the work of protection and utilization of traditional dwellings in Mindong and other areas in future.
